On December 11, 2024, the Mission Zero Dropout initiative expanded its reach by partnering with Basinghat Tole Sudhar Samiti, located in Tripureshow, Kathmandu. The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Tara Foundation Malaysia, Bajrayogini Foundation Nepal, Bishnu Saraswati Foundation, and Basinghat Tole Sudhar Samiti.
About the Center
Basinghat Tole Sudhar Samiti provided a community center (Bhawan) to host the new after-school tuition program, recognizing the urgent need for educational support in the area. The program is designed to support local children, particularly those from surrounding slum communities whose families often lack the resources for a stable learning environment at home.
Students Reached
The center currently supports 50 students across two cohorts:
- 40 children in grades 1 to 5
- 10 children in grades 6 to 10
Through personalized attention and homework assistance, the program aims to improve academic performance, foster a positive attitude toward learning, and contribute to the broader goal of reducing school dropout rates in the region.
This is the fifth center established under the Mission Zero Dropout initiative in 2024.
