New Center Enrolled — Shree Jhor Mahankal Secondary School

Third Mission Zero Dropout center signed in Jhor, Kathmandu, bringing personalized after-school support to 150+ students from low-income families.

On October 1, 2024, the Mission Zero Dropout initiative marked a significant milestone with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Tara Foundation Malaysia, Bajrayogini Foundation Nepal, Bishnu Saraswati Foundation, and Shree Jhor Mahankal Secondary School.

About the Center

Located in Jhor, Kathmandu, this government school serves children from underserved communities, many of whom come from low-income families where parents are engaged in labor-intensive occupations. These students often face challenging educational environments at home, lacking adequate support and resources to facilitate their learning.

What the Partnership Brings

The center supports 150+ students and offers a comprehensive after-school program that aims to bridge educational gaps by providing personalized homework assistance and closely monitoring each student’s progress. This targeted approach enhances academic performance and fosters a supportive learning environment, significantly reducing the risk of early school dropouts.

Jhor Mahankal is the largest of the five centers established in 2024 and continues to be the biggest center in the Mission Zero Dropout network.
